The blue Lodge wasn't blue at all
Textile in the mix at CBK Rotterdam
This is a project from Haadjar Fris where old craftmenships are combined with designers from Rotterdam.
The reconizable patterns, old crafts and nostalgia are increasingly found in contemporary fashion and textiles. Within this project six designers where linked to six foreign craftmenexperts and entered a design phase to give a new interpretation of these ancient techniques.
The result is a modern design with a nod to a different past.
Together with Ush Engelman I developed some new weavingpatterns made in leather. The result is a series of accessories that complement the current collection.
Participating designers: Zelda Beauchampet, Yvonne Gaemers, Diana van Golden, Geeske de Graaff, Daisy Kroon, Kwannie Tang.
Craftmenexperts: Usch Engelman (Germany) weaving, Hatice Akbas (Turkey) crochet, Tazem Allahi (Pakistan) patchwork, Puk Vossen (Netherlands) knit, Minira Salimoska (Macedonia) crochet, Zehra Karagoz (Turkey) knit and crochet.
Opening of the exhibition:
Saturday 18th December from 14:30 - 17:30
The products are sold and exhibited untill the 3rd of February 2011
