Elfie Tromp on Daisy Kroon
The lovely Elfie Tromp visited the studio a couple of weeks ago. We had lunch outside in front of the studio in the sun and while eating our sandwiches she asked me couple of questions. Sometimes I totally forgot she was taking an interview and I am so glad she skipped all the answers where I had my mouth half full... thank you Elfie!
Daisy Kroon is that beautiful brown-eyed girl with the hair that falls around her face like a cloak. The about page on her website shows a black and white photograph of herself during a photoshoot, looking pensive. On the right hand side, quotations of herself pass by. This woman is not about titles, degrees or awards, even though she has them. ‘Who cares what academy I went to or what job I did in 2007? My current work is what counts and what people should base their opinion on’, she states.
Daisy Kroons work is an invitation to simple wonder: a relaxed sense of mystery that is reflected in the casual, but intricate designs and the comfortable textiles she works with.
